If you have not used Soundminer on a particular computer you may need to take some quick steps to make sure it is configured correctly.
Make sure that the Sound Files network drive is connected.
If it is not click the Reconnect Sound Files icon in the Dock.
When prompted enter your Flashpoint Chicago username and password.
Run the SM Plus application.
If you are prompted to create a database, set the name as ‘local’ and click OK.
Open the Soundminer menu on the top left and select Show Preferences.
Open the Daemon tab on the far right.
Check the box to Authorize via daemon.
Enter the IP address 172.18.10.101
Leave the port as 4001
Quit the SM Plus application.
Re-run the SM Plus application.
When prompted log in with username ‘student’ and password ‘student’.
Open the Database menu, choose Open Database and select the Flashpoint_FX database.
After you have completed this the first time you should only need to run the application and log in as student and select the database in the future, but you will need to perform these steps on each different computer you use.
If you receive this File not found error when attempting to use a sound from the database, make sure the Sound Files network drive is connected by clicking the Reconnect Sound Files icon in the Dock.
